Wenson Tang

Wenson Tang is Co-Founder and COO at SubVysion, Inc., a Y Combinator-backed startup building centimeter-accurate 3D maps of underground utilities to help construction contractors dig safer and faster.
Wenson studied Computer Science and Consumer Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania (ENG'25) and previously worked as a Software Developer at CentralSquare Technologies, where he built cross-jurisdiction emergency dispatch systems that helped first responders reach emergencies three minutes faster.
Wenson's senior design project at UPenn, Vedette, was a fully custom-built low-cost LiDAR drone for urban search-and-rescue that won Best Overall Project in the computer science department, demonstrating his deep passion for applied hardware and spatial intelligence.
SubVysion was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch and is actively deployed on job sites in Philadelphia and Texas, helping utility contractors avoid costly and deadly underground utility strikes.
Underground utility strikes cause $30B in damages and 20 deaths every year in the US, and SubVysion's autonomous rover fleet maps subsurface infrastructure at 100x better granularity and 10x the speed of competitors, with plans to expand to municipalities and energy providers.
