Will Jeremijenko

Will (Billy) Jeremijenko is the Co-Founder of Aquila Earth, a deep tech Australasian startup pioneering wireless energy transmission using high-powered lasers and optical relay systems to build the world's first global 'internet of energy'.
Will studied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Queensland and was recognised as Australia's top creative young entrepreneur and innovator, with experience building complex coordination platforms before co-founding Aquila in 2022 with mechatronics engineer Nelson Smith.
Will's core insight is that semiconductor lasers are becoming cheap enough to transmit energy cost-effectively at massive scale, offering a dynamic wireless alternative to trillions of dollars worth of static transmission infrastructure.
Will led Aquila through the Startmate accelerator (W22) and Blackbird's Foundry deep-tech program, securing a $3M AUD seed round led by Blackbird Ventures alongside Icehouse Ventures, Possible Ventures, and Startmate, followed by a $2M follow-on round.
Aquila has set two world records in laser power transfer, wirelessly charged drones from a 50m distance (over 10 times any prior attempt), attracted interest from DARPA, and earned Will a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list.
