Will Vega-Brown is Co-Founder and CTO at Tagup, an AI-powered defense and industrial technology company that uses machine learning to predict equipment failure and optimize logistics decisions.

Will earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, where he conducted research in the Robust Robotics Group on high-level autonomy, decision-making, and sensor uncertainty for autonomous systems.

Will co-founded Tagup alongside former MIT classmate Jon Garrity, driven by the shared vision of merging limited data with expert knowledge to make complex, real-world problems solvable through reinforcement learning.

As CTO, Will leads all technical efforts at Tagup, including researching novel machine learning methods, building physics-based modeling toolkits, and developing low-cost IoT gateways that reduce deployment timelines from weeks to hours.

Tagup has raised over $16.9M in financing, secured federal SBIR contracts, and grown to approximately 36 employees, serving energy and defense sectors with its AI-driven Manifest platform.
