Yagiz Abik is Co-Founder and CEO of 5U AI, a Munich-based Agentic AI startup building a digital workforce platform for European freight forwarding teams. He co-founded the company in 2025 alongside Fehmi Sener, his Technical University of Munich classmate and CTO.

Yagiz developed a deep-rooted connection to physical trade from an early age, importing consumer electronics from Shenzhen and selling them across Turkey at 18. He later worked at a B2B trade startup in Hamburg, where firsthand frustration with fragmented logistics operations planted the seed for 5U AI.

Yagiz brings a rare blend of operator-level logistics experience and technical education from one of Europe's top engineering universities. His vision is to replace manual, inbox-driven freight workflows with intelligent AI Workers that not only act, but capture the reasoning behind every decision.

5U AI raised $3.2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round led by London-based Emerge Capital, with backing from former senior executives at DHL, GEODIS, DSV, Maersk, and Ceva Logistics. The company is already live with customers including TCI International Logistics across air and ocean freight.

Live customers are reportedly reaching 85 to 95% automation rates on individual use cases, with AI Workers handling quoting, bookings, shipment tracking, and invoice reconciliation across air, sea, and road freight. 5U AI is actively expanding its team and accelerating its European market rollout.
