Yana Reshetnyak

Yana Reshetnyak is Co-Founder, President and CEO of pHLIP, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering peptide-based targeted delivery platforms for cancer and acidic tissue diseases. She holds a PhD from the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, Russian Academy of Sciences, and completed postdoctoral training at Yale University.
Before co-founding pHLIP in 2014, Yana served as Professor of Physics at the University of Rhode Island since 2004, where she remains a Professor and is also Professor Adjunct at Rhode Island Hospital, Warren Alpert Brown Medical School. She is a prolific researcher with over 175 publications and 6,300+ citations in membrane biophysics and drug delivery.
Yana is recognized among the top 2% of cited authors globally in 2024 and serves as Commissioner on the RI Atomic Commission. She co-developed the proprietary pHLIP technology at Yale and URI, which has been exclusively licensed to pHLIP, Inc. with worldwide commercial rights.
pHLIP, Inc. has raised approximately $7.86M and established strategic partnerships with CordenPharma for LNP-targeted delivery platforms and GMP manufacturing. The company's technology is being sublicensed by Cybrexa Therapeutics, which secured a $60M upfront deal with Exelixis for CBX-12, a pHLIP-based drug conjugate.
