Yax Sun, Ph.D., is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at QuantX Biosciences, a computation-powered drug discovery company advancing oral small molecule therapeutics for immune-mediated and inflammatory diseases.

Yax completed postgraduate studies in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of California, San Francisco and spent over 20 years at Amgen, most recently serving as Director and Head of Computational Chemistry from 2001 to 2022.

Yax has been cited over 3,300 times in scientific literature and contributed to pioneering research in computational chemistry and drug property prediction using machine learning.

QuantX was co-founded in 2022 and has raised $130 million to date, including a recent $85 million Series B round co-led by LAV and Sanofi Ventures, with backing from OrbiMed, Creacion Ventures, and Hongshan.

QuantX has developed multiple high-quality oral small molecule development candidates and built a world-class computational platform merging physics-based and statistical modeling to accelerate drug discovery and optimize therapies.
