Yechan Seo

Yechan Seo is the Founder and CEO of Rosota, a South Korean AI-native surgical robotics startup spun out of the MediSC Lab at Seoul National University Hospital's Department of Transdisciplinary Medicine.
Yechan is a medical student at Seoul National University College of Medicine and graduated as the top student in math and science from Gyeonggi Science High School.
Yechan has published research and earned accolades including the Future Talent Award and Best Paper Award from Seoul National University College of Medicine, and served as the 18th President of MD Winners, leading national hackathons and medical entrepreneurship initiatives.
As a full-time researcher at the MediSC Lab since 2024, Yechan specialized in Medical AI, Medical Robotics, and Brain-Computer Interface technologies, and co-authored machine-learning models for optimizing surgical outcomes.
Rosota secured a $965K seed round led by Futureplay with participation from Schmidt and ZDVC, and is building proprietary surgical data infrastructure to train AI models that amplify surgeon capabilities and expand access to high-quality surgery globally.
