Yibin Wang

Professor Yibin Wang is Co-Founder and Scientific Founder of Brano Therapeutics, a Singapore-based biotech spin-off from Duke-NUS Medical School pioneering novel treatments for heart failure, including Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF).
Wang earned his doctoral degree in cell biology and molecular genetics from Baylor College of Medicine, completed post-doctoral fellowships at The Scripps Research Institute and UC San Diego, and previously served as Chair of the Cardiovascular Theme at UCLA from 2015 to 2019.
A recipient of the American Heart Association's 2023 Basic Research Prize, Wang holds four licensed patents and has published more than 240 scientific articles on cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases.
As Director of the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders Programme at Duke-NUS Medical School and Professor at Duke University School of Medicine, Wang leads a research team decoding the metabolic drivers of heart failure and translating those discoveries into therapies.
Brano Therapeutics secured US$6.8 million in seed funding led by Trinity Innovation Bioventure Singapore and SEEDS, with the company targeting clinical trials by 2029 to address a condition affecting an estimated 64 million people globally.
