Yuk Chi Chan

Yuk Chi Chan is Co-Founder and CEO of Charter Space, a Techstars-backed startup pioneering systems engineering software and insurance brokerage services for the commercial space economy.
A Singapore Army Engineers logistics officer, Chan later earned a Bachelor of Laws from Durham University and an LLM in International Law from UCL, specializing in space law before joining UK satellite startup Anchor Orbital as Co-Founder and General Counsel.
Chan's frustration with inefficient mission management tools at Anchor Orbital, which he credits as a factor in that company's demise, became the direct catalyst for Charter Space, driving his mission to build infrastructure that keeps space startups alive.
Charter became the first British space company accepted into the Techstars Aerospace and Defense Accelerator, partnered with NASA JPL and the US Space Force, and later launched a nationally licensed insurance brokerage serving over 50 companies across the US space and defense industrial base.
Charter Space has raised $8 million in total funding, was a TechCrunch Startup Battlefield finalist, and acquired Y Combinator-backed insurtech Plover Parametrics to expand its direct insurance placement capabilities across novel space missions.
