Zhanfeng Cui

Professor Zhanfeng Cui is Co-Founder of Vivid Dx, a precision diagnostics spinout from the University of Oxford developing AI-powered rapid sepsis and antimicrobial resistance testing.
Cui earned his BSc from Inner Mongolia Polytechnic University and his MSc and PhD from Dalian University of Technology, before joining Oxford in 1994 where he became the Donald Pollock Professor of Chemical Engineering in 2000.
A Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Cui is one of the first Chinese professors at the University of Oxford and a globally recognized expert in biomedical and biochemical engineering.
Beyond Vivid Dx, Cui is Academic Founder of Oxford MEStar Limited, CN BioInnovation Limited (a leading Organ-on-Chip firm), and Oxford SimCell Limited, and serves as Founding Director of the Oxford Centre for Tissue Engineering and Bioprocessing.
Vivid Dx has raised $15M in seed funding co-led by Oxford Science Enterprises and Cedars-Sinai, with its platform achieving 92% concordance with gold-standard antimicrobial susceptibility testing in preclinical trials.
