Zhenwen Dai is Co-Founder and CTO at Trent AI, a London-based agentic security company building the first multi-agent security platform purpose-built to secure AI agents and autonomous workflows throughout their entire lifecycle.

Zhenwen taught himself computer programming in high school and developed a passion for AI during its early days, going on to accumulate over 15 years of experience in machine learning research and applied AI systems.

Zhenwen is driven by the challenge of building AI systems that improve autonomously and reliably, believing that security must be continuous, invisible, and deeply embedded into the development process for agentic systems to be trusted at scale.

Prior to co-founding Trent AI, Zhenwen led a research lab at Spotify developing AI for personalized listening experiences and served as a Machine Learning Scientist at Amazon Web Services, working alongside renowned ML researcher Neil Lawrence.

Trent AI emerged from stealth in April 2026 with a $13M seed round led by LocalGlobe and Cambridge Innovation Capital, with backing from leaders at OpenAI, Spotify, Databricks, and AWS, and has already onboarded early design partners including Canopy, Commscentre, and Weblogic.
