Zohar Alon

Zohar Alon is Co-Founder and CEO of NewCore, a security-first identity platform built to govern humans, machines, and AI agents in a unified enterprise architecture. He is a three-time cybersecurity founder with nearly 30 years of industry experience, widely recognized as a pioneer in cloud and network security.
Alon earned a BA in Economics and Management (cum laude) from Tel Aviv University, and was one of the early employees at Check Point Software in the late 1990s where he built Provider-1, a foundational enterprise security management solution still used by the world's largest MSPs today. He went on to found Dome9 Security in 2011, defining the Cloud Security Posture Management category before selling it to Check Point for approximately $161-200M in 2018.
Alon identified the opportunity for NewCore in 2023 after observing that enterprise identity systems, built for an earlier era of human logins, were wholly unequipped to handle the explosion of AI agents requiring fine-grained, revocable access to production systems. He believes AI agents will outnumber human workers in many technology-focused organizations within a few years, making a rebuilt, security-first identity layer an urgent enterprise necessity.
Prior to NewCore, Alon served as an angel investor and board member across cybersecurity companies including Firefly, Adaptive Shield, and HolistiCyber, and also held advisory roles at Cyberstarts, the founders-powered VC firm. He co-founded NewCore in January 2025 alongside Amihai Neiderman (CTO, former Unit 8200 research leader) and Erez Yarkoni (CCO, former CIO of T-Mobile USA and Telstra).
NewCore emerged from stealth in June 2026 with $66M in seed funding backed by Cyberstarts, Index Ventures, and Evolution Equity Partners, at a reported valuation of $300M. The company has grown to over 50 employees across Tel Aviv and the United States and is targeting incumbents such as Microsoft and Okta with a ground-up, AI-era identity platform.
