Peeko builds babycare quick commerce with try-and-buy model

The Bengaluru startup delivers baby products in 60 minutes with try-before-you-buy—but its reported $7M Series A remains unverified as of August 2026.

Peeko builds babycare quick commerce with try-and-buy model

Peeko, a Bengaluru-based startup promising 60-minute delivery of baby products with a try-before-you-buy twist, was reported in early 2026 to be preparing for fresh fundraising, though the company declined to confirm any Series A round and no regulatory filings have emerged as of August 2026. The startup's last publicly disclosed capital infusion was a $3.2 million seed round announced in August 2025, with Stellaris Venture Partners leading the investment; subsequent reports indicate preparation for further funding without specifics on amount or timing.

Should a Series A materialize, it would likely land less than 12 months after that seed close—a brisk cadence even for India's overheated quick-commerce sector. The timing reflects both opportunity and pressure: horizontal giants including Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto have pushed aggressively into baby-care aisles, threatening vertical specialists who claim deeper curation and service as their moat.

Curation as the differentiator

Peeko operates across Bengaluru, stocking curated baby and children's merchandise that spans apparel, toys, formula and diapers. The company's central pitch is a try-and-buy feature that lets parents inspect items at home before committing to purchase, paired with instant returns and round-the-clock customer support. Details come from the startup's app store listings and its own website.

"We are solving for the entire range within 30 to 60 minutes," co-founder Chetan Sharma told Moneycontrol last August. Peeko's inventory includes recognizable brands—Similac, Johnson & Johnson, Pampers, Chicco, Mamaearth—and operates daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

According to Google Play Store data from July 2026, Peeko's Android app has surpassed one million downloads, based on the platform's approximate metrics. The iOS version holds a 4.7-star rating across 1,800 reviews, suggesting decent early traction in a crowded market.

Angels and advisors

Stellaris Venture Partners anchored the $3.2 million seed, drawing participation from a clutch of angel investors: Maninder Gulati, Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal of Titan Capital, Abhishek Goyal of Tracxn, Nitin Gupta of Uni, and Arjun Vaidya of V3 Ventures. The company announced the round in August 2025.

Founders Sharma, Abhijit Gairola and Vivek Khetan bring resumes from Leap and OYO, according to their profiles and reports in Moneycontrol and The Economic Times. CMS Induslaw advised Stellaris on the seed deal, while Vertices Partners and Kaizen Law represented the company.

"Apart from building the right product assortment and supply chain, we are working on 'try and buy' and instant return experiences," Sharma told The Economic Times at the time.

Mayank Jain, a principal at Stellaris, framed the opportunity around fragmentation. "The baby and kids' market is large, fragmented, and largely unbranded, with attractive gross margins," he said last year.

Vertical squeeze

Peeko faces entrenched competition from FirstCry, the baby-and-kids retail heavyweight that offered same-day delivery in roughly 40 cities as of November 2024, per The Economic Times. Smaller rivals such as Ozi and Zoddle have also pulled in capital over the past year, Moneycontrol noted.

But the more existential threat may come from horizontal platforms. Blinkit, Instamart and Zepto have folded diapers, wipes and formula into their grocery assortments, leveraging delivery networks already built for groceries and household goods. The economics look daunting for a single-category player.

Sharma counters that curation separates Peeko from the pack. "We are focusing on building the right high-quality product assortment enabling try-and-buy and instant returns," he told Moneycontrol—a wager that service depth matters more than sheer speed or scale.

Loose ends

Peeko's self-reported LinkedIn profile lists between 51 and 200 employees as of August 2026, though the range is self-reported and the company has not confirmed current headcount. The startup operates under the legal name Haapki Moms Private Limited, incorporated in Bengaluru in May 2025.

Moneycontrol reported in January 2026 that Peeko was preparing for a fresh infusion, but named neither investors nor terms. If a Series A has indeed closed or is nearing completion, the company remains tight-lipped. Whether the round happens or at what terms, it will clarify how much runway Peeko has secured to defend its niche against better-capitalized rivals circling the same aisles.
