Triver raises £8M to automate SME cashflow streaming

London fintech lands Series B from Calderwood Capital to expand embedded invoice financing. Has funded £400M across 40,000+ invoices for 2,400 SME clients.

Triver raises £8M to automate SME cashflow streaming

Jerome Le Luel spent years calculating risk for some of the largest lenders in Britain, but it was the smallest businesses that stayed on his mind. Late payments were choking them, yet the available remedies felt clunky, expensive, or both. So in launching Triver, he set out to build what he calls something else entirely: not factoring, not a loan, but "Cashflow Streaming."

On August 31, the London fintech announced it had raised £8 million in a Series B round led by Calderwood Capital, with existing investors returning. The company declined to disclose its valuation, though law firm Osborne Clarke confirmed on September 3, 2026, that Triver's total venture capital haul stands at £30 million. (That figure marks steady, if not meteoric, momentum in a market where investor enthusiasm for fintech has cooled considerably since the boom years of 2021 and early 2022.)

Triver has advanced £400 million across more than 40,000 invoices for 2,400 small and medium-sized enterprises since its inception, the company said. Perhaps more telling: its Net Promoter Score hit 92, and over 90 percent of monthly revenue comes from repeat customers. Those numbers suggest businesses are finding the service sticky, a critical benchmark in a crowded space.

Same-day cash, automated collections

What Triver offers is straightforward in concept, ambitious in execution. The platform advances cash against issued B2B invoices the same day, often within five minutes, then automatically deducts fees when the buyer eventually pays. Le Luel calls it Cashflow Streaming and claims the company can grant facilities up to £1 million within 10 minutes of starting an application, according to an August 31 blog post.

Fees begin at 1.8 percent for a 30-day invoice, which translates to roughly 0.06 percent daily. The platform integrates with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks, tapping Open Banking connections to pre-approve invoices and sync repayments directly to accounting ledgers. It's a model that aims to strip out the friction and opacity that have long defined invoice finance.

"We've created a solution that's fast, flexible and fair," Le Luel said in the announcement. Whether fair is the right word likely depends on whom you ask, but the speed claim appears genuine.

A team built on credit risk

Le Luel came to Triver from Funding Circle, where he served as chief risk officer. Before that, he led global risk analytics at Barclays and worked at Capital One, according to the company's website. His co-founders bring similar pedigrees. Chief commercial officer Gokce Yucealpan also logged time at Capital One and ran unsecured lending at Barclays after a stint at Boston Consulting Group. Chief product officer Guilherme Valerio worked at MoneySuperMarket and was involved in establishing Credit Karma in the UK; CTO Ben Emery arrived from Cazoo.

It's a roster heavy on risk modeling and consumer credit, which makes sense for a business predicated on advancing cash before invoices clear. The founders know what can go wrong when underwriting goes sideways.

Embedded finance, the quiet bet

The Series B will fund product refinement, but Triver's real push is toward embedded-finance integrations that deliver invoice financing at the point of need. The company named Tide Bank as an active collaboration and said more partnerships are in progress.

Triver previously integrated with Elcom, a public-sector procurement platform, in July 2024 and with Birdie, a homecare provider platform, in May 2025. Channel partners include Funding Options by Tide, Newable, Swoop, Clear Business Finance and Capitalise, according to a November 2023 announcement. The embedded approach could be a faster path to scale than direct customer acquisition, though it also means ceding some control over the user experience.

Dylan Grice, chief investment officer at Calderwood Capital, said his firm was "delighted to be supporting Triver in the next phase of their growth journey." The language is standard investor-speak, but Calderwood's involvement signals at least modest confidence in the trajectory.

A £112 billion problem

UK small businesses were owed £112 billion in overdue invoices by the end of 2024, Sage told a parliamentary committee. The House of Lords Library estimated in June 2026 that late payments cost the UK economy roughly £11 billion a year and drive 14,000 business closures annually. Large businesses' average time to pay stood at 32 days in 2025, government statistics showed.

The Procurement Act, implemented in February 2025, mandates 30-day payment terms for public-sector contracts, but enforcement remains patchy. For SMEs caught in the gap between issuing an invoice and getting paid, the options have traditionally been limited: chase the client, tap a credit line, or turn to invoice finance with its thicket of fees and paperwork.

Triver's competitors in the UK include Kriya, formerly MarketInvoice, and Satago. Tide also offers invoice finance through partners to its SME account holders. British Business Bank data shows independent fintechs gaining share as major banks retreat from small-ticket invoice financing, a trend that has accelerated as regulatory capital requirements bite harder.

The funding trail

Triver raised £7 million in seed capital in April 2023, led by Stride.VC, with backing from Axeleo Capital, Motive Partners and scout investments from Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia. Angel investors included Dan Cobley, co-founder of ClearScore and Salary Finance and former managing director of Google UK.

In September 2025, the company closed a £14 million Series A led by AlleyCorp, alongside expanded debt facilities totaling up to £100 million from HSBC Innovation Banking UK and Avellinia Capital. The package, worth up to £114 million, included support from the British Business Bank and targeted £1 billion in annual funding capacity. That's an ambitious number, though whether Triver can reach it will depend on demand holding up and credit performance staying clean.

Osborne Clarke advised Triver on the Series B, as it did on the Series A. James Taylor, a partner at the firm, said the team was "delighted to support Triver on another successful funding round."

For now, Triver remains a bet that enough small businesses will trade certainty for cost. The question is whether the market is deep enough to support the kind of growth its backers expect.
