Holoclara is the first biotechnology company creating safe, orally available worm-derived therapies for allergic and autoimmune diseases. The company mines immunomodulatory molecules from gut roundworms, building on decades of preclinical data proving therapeutic efficacy across diseases including asthma, multiple sclerosis, lupus, and diabetes. Holoclara's discovery engine isolates therapeutic molecules from worms and replicates them using synthetic chemistry to develop safe, orally available medicines. In December 2024, the company initiated its first-ever Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating HC002 in healthy adults, with eosinophilic esophagitis as the lead indication.
