Ki 13 (formerly Ki Hydrogen) is a UK-based deep-tech cleantech company developing a proprietary electrochemical process that converts lignocellulosic biomass residues into separate streams of green hydrogen and biogenic CO2. These outputs serve as feedstocks for synthetic fuels and chemicals including sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF), e-methanol, and e-methane. The technology uses up to 75% less energy compared to conventional water electrolysis, targeting fossil fuel cost-parity. Ki 13 raised $5 million in seed funding to build an industrial pilot plant, backed by HICO Investment Group, Burgest, Triple Impact Ventures, GiTV, Desai Ventures, and non-dilutive support from Innovate UK.
