Koji Muto

Koji Muto is Co-Founder and CEO of Ki 13 (formerly Ki Hydrogen), a UK cleantech deep-tech company pioneering a novel biomass electrolysis process to co-produce green hydrogen and biogenic CO2 at fossil fuel cost-parity.
Koji earned an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from London Business School and previously served as a senior engineer at ExxonMobil, where he developed the UK's largest hydrogen project valued at $800 million.
Driven by his first-hand experience in the energy industry, Koji took a first principles approach to radically rethink how synthetic fuels and chemicals are made, targeting a projected $278 billion global hydrogen market.
Prior to founding Ki 13, Koji was an early hire at a small modular nuclear reactor startup ($100M raised) and a direct-air-capture startup ($5M raised), building deep expertise across the energy transition landscape.
Ki 13 has raised $5 million in seed funding to build an industrial pilot plant, with Koji aiming to cut 100 million tonnes of CO2 emissions and deliver synthetic fuels including e-SAF, e-methanol, and e-methane at commercial scale.
