Founders
NewOrbit Space is a UK-based satellite technology company engineering and operating satellites at ultra-low Earth orbits (ULEO) of 180km, approximately three times lower than conventional LEO satellites. This strategic altitude enables drone-quality imagery, enhanced telecommunications, and direct satellite-to-device services at a fraction of traditional satellite costs. The company's flagship AURA air-breathing electric propulsion system uses atmospheric particles as propellant to sustain orbit at these extreme low altitudes, and its NEO-1 satellite platform supports commercial and scientific missions with a five-year lifespan. NewOrbit's satellites are also designed to be debris-free, vanishing shortly after decommissioning.
