Anatolii Papulov is Co-Founder and CEO of NewOrbit Space, a UK-based satellite technology company engineering the world's lowest orbiting satellites at ultra-low Earth orbit altitudes of 180km, enabling superior Earth observation and telecommunications.
Anatolii studied at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and conducted research at MIT, and previously worked at WorldQuant and AVANT SPACE before launching NewOrbit Space in 2021.
Inspired by the potential of flying satellites three times closer to Earth to dramatically cut costs and improve resolution, Anatolii saw a gap no commercial company had yet addressed and built a venture to fill it.
Anatolii co-founded NewOrbit Space alongside Ruslan Rakhimov, raising $8.3M across three funding rounds, and has been recognized in the Seraphim SpaceTech Ecosystem Map 2024 among the most innovative space companies globally.
NewOrbit Space has grown to 29 employees, developed the AURA air-breathing electric propulsion system for sustained ULEO operations, and was selected to join the UK Space Agency GEO program to accelerate its first in-orbit demonstration mission.
