Dr. Aaron Goodman is the Co-Founder and CEO of Petra Power, an Ohio-based clean energy company manufacturing hyper-efficient, fuel-flexible solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) power systems that convert fossil fuels and hydrogen to electricity without combustion.
Aaron graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chapman University with dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Chemistry, then earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, where he researched thermonuclear plasmas in the plasma physics laboratory.
Aaron co-founded Petra Power on the belief that practical, near-term efficiency gains are being overlooked in favor of distant solutions, identifying a NASA-developed SOFC technology capable of delivering up to 90% better efficiency than combustion.
Petra Power has secured $9 million in DoD funding, participated in the 2025 Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator, and was selected as a semi-finalist in the EarthX 2025 Climate Tech Prize competition.
Petra Power targets a $23 billion TAM in auxiliary power for freight and logistics, and is advancing toward commercial deployment of power systems serving aerospace, automotive, shipping, and utility markets.
