Justin McLeod

Overtone is a New York-based modern matchmaking company founded by Justin McLeod, the creator of Hinge. Unlike traditional dating apps, Overtone is a voice- and audio-forward service powered by AI and grounded in relationship science, offering highly curated introductions rather than algorithmic swipe feeds. Incubated inside Hinge with Match Group's support throughout 2025, Overtone spun out as an independent company and raised $18 million in seed funding from FirstMark Capital, Pace Capital, and Match Group. Its board includes psychotherapist Esther Perel, executive coach Diana Chapman, and Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff.
