Stellar Alpina
Stellar Alpina is a Swiss SpaceTech startup headquartered at Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich (Dubendorf) developing compact rotating detonation rocket engines (RDREs) for next-generation in-space mobility. Founded by four alumni of ARIS, the Academic Spaceflight Initiative Switzerland, the company is targeting the growing market for post-launch orbital transfers, satellite repositioning, cislunar operations, and deep-space infrastructure. Its breakthrough RDRE technology replaces conventional subsonic combustion with supersonic detonation, enabling smaller, lighter, and more efficient propulsion systems. Just 82 days after incorporation, the team completed Europe's first known commercial RDRE hotfire campaign, marking a historic milestone for European space propulsion.
