DI Roberto Lerche is Co-Founder and Co-CEO at sequestra, a Vienna-based ClimateTech startup pioneering data-driven CO2 mineralisation technology to decarbonise heavy industry.
Roberto studied at Montanuniversitat Leoben and built expertise in recycling engineering, data modelling, and consulting before co-founding sequestra in 2024 alongside Lukas Hober and Gero Schwarz.
Roberto brings a rare combination of recycling engineering know-how and data-driven systems thinking, enabling sequestra to develop globally patented, machine learning-powered carbonation processes.
Prior to sequestra, Roberto worked at RecycleMe as a Circularity Manager, sharpening his focus on circular economy solutions for industrial waste streams.
sequestra has completed over 250 carbonation trials, raised approximately 5M EUR in total funding, and targets a potential CO2 reduction of 4 to 8.5 billion tons annually, representing 10 to 20% of global emissions.
