Eric Kauderer-Abrams

Eric Kauderer-Abrams is Head of Life Sciences at Anthropic, leading the company's healthcare and biology initiatives to make Claude the go-to AI research assistant for scientists and clinicians. He joined Anthropic in 2025 to spearhead the launch of Claude for Life Sciences and Claude for Healthcare, positioning AI as a transformative force in scientific discovery and medical workflows.
Eric studied Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering at Stanford University, where he conducted research in neuromorphic hardware and neural systems. He previously served as CEO and Chief Technology Officer at Detect, a molecular diagnostics company, where he led bioinformatics and computational biology efforts.
Eric reports directly to Anthropic's product chief and integrates research, safety, and go-to-market teams across the life sciences vertical. His vision is for a meaningful percentage of all life science work to run on Claude, emphasizing responsible AI transformation in healthcare.
Under his leadership, Anthropic partnered with major organizations including Banner Health, Stanford Healthcare, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, 10x Genomics, and Benchling to deploy Claude across drug discovery, clinical trials, and regulatory workflows. He launched Claude for Life Sciences in October 2025 and expanded with Claude for Healthcare in January 2026.
Eric's initiatives enable scientists to compress months of analysis into hours while maintaining rigorous safety standards. Claude for Life Sciences now connects to over 600 scientific tools and major databases including PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, and bioRxiv, accelerating research workflows by up to 10x in some cases.
