Anthropic is an AI research company that focuses on the safety and alignment of AI systems with human values. Anthropic was founded in 2021 by seven former employees of OpenAI, including siblings Daniela Amodei and Dario Amodei. The company has developed Claude, a family of large language models designed with Constitutional AI principles to ensure reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. As of August, Anthropic said its run-rate revenue has reached more than $5 billion, up from roughly $1 billion at the beginning of the year. Anthropic serves more than 300,000 business customers. The company operates as a public benefit corporation, legally binding its actions to building AI systems that benefit humanity.
