
Daniela Amodei is Co-Founder and President of Anthropic, an AI safety and research company developing the Claude large language model series. She leads teams focused on AI safety, model alignment, and the commercial side of the business.
Daniela holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She joined Stripe in 2013 as an early employee, transitioned to OpenAI in 2018 where she managed the team during GPT-2's development, and became Vice President of Safety and Policy before leaving in 2020 to co-found Anthropic with her brother Dario Amodei.
In September 2023, Daniela and her brother were named as two of the Time 100 Most Influential People in AI. She was featured on Forbes' 100 most powerful women in 2025.
Anthropic was founded in 2021 by former members of OpenAI, including siblings Daniela Amodei and Dario Amodei, who serve as president and CEO, respectively. Anthropic raised $30 billion in Series G funding led by GIC and Coatue, valuing Anthropic at $380 billion post-money.
