Gurmesh Sidhu

Gurmesh Sidhu is the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Moment Energy, North America's leading EV battery repurposing company, where he leads product management, pricing strategy, and business model development.
Gurmesh earned his degree in Mechatronics Systems Engineering from Simon Fraser University and co-founded Moment Energy during his undergraduate years after leading SFU's Team Phantom, the university's first electric race team, with a team of over 40 engineering students.
In 2021, Gurmesh was recognized as one of Canada's Top 50 Business Change Makers by the Globe and Mail, and in 2023 received the Forbes 30 Under 30 award for his work in clean energy innovation.
As the bridge between Moment Energy's business and technical teams, Gurmesh drives product commercialization and market growth, helping secure key supply-chain partnerships with Nissan North America and Mercedes-Benz Energy for retired EV batteries.
Moment Energy has raised over $100M in total funding, achieved the first UL 1974 certification in North America for repurposed batteries, and is building the world's first second-life EV battery gigafactory in Texas, targeting 1 GWh of annual production capacity.
