Hugo Roche

Hugo Roche is Co-Founder and President of Hopper, a French social and solidarity economy startup that designs eco-responsible running blades to make sport accessible to people with disabilities.
Hugo studied advanced materials for aeronautics at IMT Mines Albi and completed a research assistantship at Cranfield University, where the Hopper project first took shape through a collaboration with Airbus.
Hugo is also an Associate at Time for the Planet, reflecting his deep commitment to eco-responsibility alongside his mission to democratize sport access for all.
Hopper's running blades are made from recycled Airbus A350 carbon fiber offcuts, priced at roughly half the cost of traditional prosthetic blades, and have been showcased at events across France and within the EU.
Since launching in 2021, Hopper has equipped amputee athletes across France, participated in major sport and innovation summits, and won recognition at the Sportup Summit as a standout revelation in accessible sport tech.
