Johannes Galatsanos

Johannes Galatsanos is the Co-Founder and CEO of Diffraqtion, an MIT and University of Maryland spinout building breakthrough quantum camera platforms for satellites, defense, and space sensing.
Johannes holds degrees from MIT and Oxford, previously served as Executive Director at Novartis building data and AI products across manufacturing and R&D, and was a researcher at MIT's Initiative on the Digital Economy and Center for Quantum Networks.
He is the author of the annual MIT Quantum Index Report and MIT papers in quantum algorithms, and brings over 15 years of experience in AI, quantum technology, and operations scaling teams from 0 to 200 in Fortune 500 environments.
Under his leadership, Diffraqtion has raised over $10M in pre-seed funding from strategic investors including Lockheed Martin Ventures and Presidio Ventures, secured a DARPA Direct-to-Phase II SBIR contract, and won NASA's $100,000 Space to Soil Challenge.
Diffraqtion's quantum camera delivers up to 20x higher resolution and 1,000x faster image processing than conventional systems, and the company won the $1M first-place prize at the Slush 100 pitch competition in November 2025.
