Kip Ludwig

Dr. Kip Ludwig is a Co-Founder of NeuraWorx Medical Technologies and a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Wisconsin Institute for Translational Neuroengineering (WITNe).
Prior to academia, Dr. Ludwig served as Program Director for Neural Engineering at the NIH, where he co-led the BRAIN Initiative and spearheaded the ~$250 million SPARC Program to advance neuromodulation therapies; he also worked in industry at CVRx, where his team developed a neural stimulation electrode approved for sale in 20 countries.
Dr. Ludwig is a pioneer in bioelectronic medicine, using minimally invasive neuromodulation to hack the nervous system and treat conditions ranging from Alzheimer's to traumatic brain injury; he holds multiple awarded patents underpinning NeuraWorx's Cerebrovascular Pacing System.
He serves on scientific advisory boards for Abbott, Battelle, and Presidio Medical, chairs the NeuroOne AI Scientific Advisory Board, and is co-founder of Neuronoff, Inc., a minimally invasive neuromodulation company that has secured over $9 million in federal funding.
NeuraWorx closed an oversubscribed Seed round in December 2025 led by Nexus NeuroTech Ventures, with participation from Foothill Ventures, Verge HealthTech Fund, and WARF, advancing its first-in-class Cerebrovascular Pacing System toward clinical trials for Alzheimer's, TBI, and other CNS disorders.
