Mathias Werder is Co-Founder and CTO at Subatron, a Swiss deep-tech startup pioneering next-generation wireless underwater communication systems emerging from the ETH Zurich ecosystem.

Mathias trained as an electronics apprentice and worked as a system test engineer before pursuing Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich, where the foundations for Subatron were laid.

Combining hands-on electronics expertise with advanced engineering studies, Mathias brings a rare blend of practical hardware skills and academic rigor to one of ocean tech's most complex challenges.

Subatron secured CHF 150,000 through Venture Kick's full three-stage program, validating both its technology and commercial potential, and is actively engaged with pilot customers and industry partners across Switzerland and Europe.

Subatron's proprietary transducer technology targets a global underwater communication and monitoring market estimated to exceed CHF 100 billion within the next decade, with applications spanning autonomous underwater vehicles, professional divers, search and rescue, and defence.
