Michael Domarkas

Michael Domarkas is the 19-year-old Founder and CEO of Frontier Computing (YC S26), a pioneering biocomputing company growing scalable biological brain systems as the next-generation hardware layer for machine learning training and inference.
A Cambridge Natural Scientist and ex-independent researcher, Michael began culturing neuronal tissue at age 17, supported by a $20K Emergent Ventures grant, and went on to become a New Science fellow focused on bridging biological neural networks with traditional ML systems.
Michael competed nationally in mathematics, chess, and biology throughout high school, and taught himself programming at age 8 through C# Unity game development, bringing a rare combination of deep scientific rigor and engineering instinct to a field at the frontier of compute.
He built the first scalable neuronal culture platform for biocomputation and validated its performance via reinforcement learning, demonstrating a biological brain trained to play Frogger, a landmark proof-of-concept in the biocompute space.
Frontier Computing has raised a $10M pre-seed round led by General Catalyst and is actively scaling toward a 500M-neuron cluster by January 2027, targeting 2,500x the scale of the largest available biocompute systems today.
