Dr. Shaurya Kaushal is Co-Founder and CEO of Pranos Fusion Energy, an Indian deep-tech startup pioneering compact magnetic fusion technology to deliver clean, virtually limitless energy at commercial scale.

Shaurya holds a PhD in Computational Physics from JNCASR, Bengaluru, and a BE from BITS Pilani, and previously conducted research at the UK Atomic Energy Authority and CSIR-CEERI before leaving academia to co-found Pranos.

A published researcher with 159+ academic citations, Shaurya is a recognized voice on fusion energy policy and was a distinguished Strategic Conference speaker at India Energy Week 2026 in Goa.

Shaurya co-founded Pranos Fusion in May 2024 alongside Roshan George, and has since secured $6.8M in seed funding from Pi Ventures, Ankur Capital, and prominent angels including the founders of Groww and Razorpay.

Pranos is building a full fusion technology stack including the PRAGYA compact tokamak, JENGA plasma-control software, and MAGGA superconducting magnet program, with first plasma targeted for 2026 and a long-term vision of 2,500 modular reactors powering nearly 1 billion Indian households.
