Sumreen Rattan

Sumreen Rattan is Co-Founder and COO at Moment Energy, North America's leading cleantech company building battery energy storage systems (BESS) by repurposing retired electric vehicle batteries for commercial, industrial, and off-grid applications.
Sumreen holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics Systems Engineering from Simon Fraser University and gained early experience as a Systems Quality Robotics Co-op Engineer at Apple and a Prototype Engineer Co-op at Archiact.
Sumreen was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2023 and recognized as a Business Changemaker by The Globe and Mail, and she advocates for fearlessness and continuous learning as core principles for women in tech.
At Moment Energy, Sumreen leads the supply chain team and manages strategic partnerships with global automakers including Mercedes-Benz Energy and Nissan North America to source retired EV batteries for second-life applications.
Moment Energy became the first company in North America to earn UL 1974 certification for EV battery repurposing, has raised over $100M in total funding, and is building a gigafactory in Texas targeting 1 GWh of annual production capacity.
