CarbonStrong (2022)
About

Vikramaditya Singh is Co-Founder and COO at CarbonStrong, a Bengaluru-based climate-tech startup developing low-carbon cement substitutes from industrial waste to decarbonise India's construction industry.

Before founding

A mechanical engineer by training from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, Vikramaditya gained consulting experience at EY working on EV projects, and held roles at SUN Mobility and PlanetHero before co-founding CarbonStrong in December 2022.

Founder Insights

Vikramaditya and co-founder Harsh Jain identified heavy industry as an underserved frontier for decarbonisation, recognising a critical gap in sustainable cement alternatives that could be adopted without costly changes to existing production processes.

Experience

CarbonStrong raised a seed round of Rs 12.5 crore led by IAN Angel Fund with participation from Rainmatter, Social Alpha, Spectrum Impact, and Full Circle Ventures, building on an earlier pre-seed from Momentum Capital and Bharat Founders Fund.

Scale & Impact

CarbonStrong has completed paid pilots with 15 customers across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, including a landmark project at IIT Madras Research Park, and won the Avaana-NITI Aayog-AIM Grand Challenge 2024-25 for climate tech innovation, targeting 100,000 tonnes of annual production capacity within two years.
