Agentio's $40M Series B: Making Creator Ads as Easy as Google

Profitable two-year-old startup reaches $340M valuation automating creator advertising for Uber, DoorDash. Forerunner leads as platform expands beyond YouTube.

Agentio's $40M Series B: Making Creator Ads as Easy as Google

The pitch sounds almost too efficient: what if brands could book creator sponsorships the way they buy Google ads—automated, data-driven, done in hours instead of weeks?

Agentio, a two-year-old New York startup, has convinced investors that this isn't just wishful thinking. The company announced a $40 million Series B on November 18, 2025, led by Forerunner Ventures, that values the creator advertising platform at $340 million. Existing backers Benchmark, Craft Ventures, AlleyCorp, and Antler participated, along with newcomer Starting Line.

The funding arrives at a curious moment for ad-tech startups. While many venture-backed companies remain years from profitability, Agentio claims it was already in the black when it raised its $12 million Series A last November—an unusual distinction that likely made this latest round easier to close. Total capital raised now stands at $56 million since the company's 2023 launch.

From Manual Outreach to Machine Speed

Co-founder and CEO Arthur Leopold, who previously ran operations at Cameo during its pandemic boom, saw the inefficiency firsthand. Brands wanting to sponsor YouTube creators faced a slog: identify candidates, negotiate deals, ensure brand safety, handle contracts, manage payments, track performance. The process could stretch 45 to 50 days before a single ad went live.

Agentio collapses that timeline to under 24 hours for initial bids, the company says. Its platform automates creator matching, vetting, bidding, contracting, and payment—essentially building programmatic infrastructure for an industry that has relied heavily on personal relationships and talent agents.

The results, according to clients, justify the approach. Bombas, the sock brand, reported a 5.3x better return on ad spend compared to traditional digital video, with 90% of acquired customers being entirely new to the brand. Other advertisers on the platform claim returns ranging from 4x to 15x versus alternative social video channels. (Those figures come from Agentio and its clients, not independent audits.)

Current customers include Cash App, Warby Parker, Away, Chime, The Farmer's Dog, MasterClass, and delivery giants Uber and DoorDash. Through the platform, Agentio says it has paid out "tens of millions of dollars" to creators—a vague metric, perhaps, but one that suggests meaningful volume.

YouTube First, Everything Else Next

The company built its initial product around YouTube sponsorships, a natural starting point given the platform's scale and advertiser appetite. Sponsored YouTube videos grew 54% year-over-year in the first half of 2025, according to Tubefilter data cited in Agentio's announcement.

But the Series B capital will finance expansion beyond Google's video empire. Meta Partnership Ads are launching imminently, with TikTok and Snapchat integrations planned for 2026. It's an ambitious roadmap, one that assumes Agentio's automation model translates across platforms with different creator ecosystems and brand safety challenges.

The company has scaled from approximately 12 employees a year ago to 35 today, with plans to exceed 100 team members by the end of 2026. Year-over-year growth sits at 5x, though the company declined to specify revenue figures—standard practice for private startups, if occasionally frustrating for anyone trying to assess actual traction.

A Portfolio Play

Forerunner's decision to lead the round wasn't entirely dispassionate. The venture firm already counts Warby Parker, Away, Chime, and The Farmer's Dog among its portfolio companies—all of whom happen to be Agentio clients. That gives Forerunner unusual visibility into how well the platform actually performs, effectively conducting due diligence through its own investments.

Leopold co-founded Agentio with Jonathan Meyers, a former Spotify engineer who serves as CTO. The pair raised a $4.25 million seed round in November 2023, then returned exactly one year later for Benchmark-led Series A funding. The relatively quick Series B suggests either exceptional execution or—more cynically—investors racing to capture a category before it consolidates.

The company also brought on YouTube creators Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal (of "Good Mythical Morning" fame) as strategic advisors, a relationship announced in October 2025 when Agentio claimed to be facilitating $1 million in creator deals weekly. Whether that figure represents gross merchandise value or actual ad spend remains unclear.

The $480 Billion Question

Agentio's broader thesis hinges on projections from Goldman Sachs and others that peg the creator economy at $480 billion by 2027. That's a staggering number—roughly the GDP of Austria—and one that assumes continued brand migration from traditional media into influencer partnerships.

The skeptical read: creator marketing may be booming, but automating it strips away the authenticity that makes it work in the first place. Fans can tell when a sponsorship feels transactional versus genuinely enthusiastic. The optimistic take: brands are already spending billions on creator deals, and anything that reduces friction while maintaining performance will capture share.

Leopold and Meyers are betting on the latter. Whether their programmatic model becomes the standard—or whether creator advertising resists commodification—will determine if this $340 million valuation looks prescient or premature. For now, at least, the checks are clearing.
