A Montreal-based startup is betting that the next generation of game creators won't need to know how to code—they'll just need to know how to chat.
Élisa Interactive raised C$875,000 in a pre-seed round led by AQC Capital, with backing from Anges Québec, the Eurêka Fund managed by Investissement Québec, and a handful of angel investors, according to announcements from the investors themselves. Founded in 2024, the company develops multi-agent AI tools designed to let creators assemble 3D worlds through conversational interfaces across Roblox, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
The funding will support the launch of Me-Z-Scene, a Roblox-focused creation product, and help validate early traction with the platform's sprawling creator community. A portion will also flow into the company's underlying agentic AI technology, AQC Capital noted. Government records show Élisa Interactive also secured a C$75,000 repayable contribution from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions to refine its marketing strategy, with the contribution agreement running from October 2025 through July 2027.
The company employs between two and ten people, according to LinkedIn, a range that suggests the startup is still in its earliest stages.
Chat Your Way to a 3D World
Élisa Interactive's software operates as a plugin inside Unreal Engine and Unity. Creators type prompts into a chat interface, and the AI responds by selecting and arranging 3D assets from the user's existing catalog. "Élisa does not create or modify 3D assets," the company clarifies on its website. Instead, it functions as an intelligent librarian, pulling pre-made objects and placing them in response to natural language commands.
The system is built on a multi-agent architecture and supports collaborative editing, allowing multiple users to shape a scene simultaneously. For Roblox, Élisa Interactive is developing Me-Z-Scene, which aims to let players manipulate virtual worlds in real time without writing a line of code or wrestling with technical workflows.
The startup announced a Unity integration set to release on June 16, 2025, and maintains separate product pages for both Unity and Unreal pipelines. Job postings for a founding growth lead focused on Roblox user-generated content and a social content creator appeared on the company's site, though the timing of those listings is difficult to pin down.
The Team Behind the Tech

Co-founders Julien Bélanger and François Bélanger are steering the company. François Bélanger describes himself as a serial entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in digital transformation; Julien Bélanger's background is in machine learning development.
In the investor announcement, Stéphane Caron, a partner at AQC Capital, said the firm had been tracking the duo for some time. Their decision to pivot toward the consumer market, he noted, was the catalyst for the investment. Cyril Paciullo, president of indie game studio Les Studios Ivalys and an angel investor in the Anges Québec network, pointed to the proven business model of platforms like Roblox. Me-Z-Scene, he suggested, offers investors a privileged entry point into that ecosystem.
Neither Caron nor Paciullo elaborated on what the company was working on before the pivot, or how long that transition took.
A Crowded and Accelerating Field

Élisa Interactive is hardly alone in pursuing AI-assisted game creation. Both major platforms and third-party startups are racing to ship tools that promise to flatten the learning curve for aspiring developers.
Roblox itself announced an AI creation feature called Build, which converts text prompts into playable mobile games. The company has hinted at a scene-generation model "coming soon," according to its newsroom. Unity rolled out an AI 3D Object Generator in beta. Unreal Engine, meanwhile, has seen a growing ecosystem of third-party plugins that automate or accelerate portions of the world-building process.
On the third-party front, a cluster of startups is jostling for position. Bloxra, Bakable, AMEO, JellyBuild, and PromptBlox all target Roblox creators with varying degrees of focus on scripting and world generation. Promethean AI offers world-building tools for Unreal and Unity workflows. Sloyd generates 3D assets in formats compatible with all three platforms. Tripo AI, which builds 3D and world models, reportedly raised nearly $200 million in one round and another $150 million shortly thereafter, though exact timing and investor details remain murky.
The proliferation of these tools suggests the market is heating up faster than any single player anticipated. It also raises questions about defensibility: if the underlying models and platforms are evolving so quickly, what keeps any one startup from being leapfrogged?
What Comes Next

Élisa Interactive is hiring for growth and community roles tied to the Roblox launch. Its website invites beta access inquiries, though no public customer case studies or user testimonials are currently available. The government marketing grant supporting the company runs through mid-2027, assuming the timelines in public records are accurate.
Whether Me-Z-Scene can carve out a sustainable niche in an increasingly crowded market remains to be seen. For now, the Bélangers are betting that the future of game creation looks less like a code editor and more like a conversation.
