Founders
ORiS (Orbital Recharge in Space) is a Turin-based deep-tech startup building an in-orbit energy distribution grid using laser-based wireless power transmission technology. Founded by four Politecnico di Torino aerospace engineers, ORiS aims to make energy in orbit a commodity, enabling satellites to access additional power directly in space, operate through eclipse periods, and extend mission lifetimes. The company is among the first European players developing this capability across Low Earth Orbit, dual-use terrestrial applications (via its LOONA drone charging platform within NATO DIANA), and lunar infrastructure.
