Surtr Defense Systems builds ParallaxOS, the open operating system for counter-UAS (unmanned aerial systems). The platform fuses sensor data from any radar, RF detector, EO/IR camera, or acoustic array into a single unified operational picture with AI-driven threat classification and engagement recommendations. Unlike legacy defense platforms, Surtr operates as a neutral integration layer: it does not compete with hardware partners on contracts, does not monetize their data, and gives full data sovereignty to customers. Supporting NATO SAPIENT, Link 16, Cursor on Target, and ATAK out of the box, Surtr enables warfighters to achieve millisecond-latency decisions at the tactical edge, with human-in-the-loop authorization on every engagement. The company is backed by Y Combinator (P26 batch) and is based in Los Angeles.
