Reduciner
Reduciner is a Finnish deep tech startup and spinout from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland that commercializes a proprietary high-temperature thermochemical process to convert captured CO2 into carbon monoxide (CO), which can be used as a sustainable fuel and industrial raw material. The technology leverages renewable electricity and biogenic carbon, enabling hard-to-abate industries such as cement, lime, steel, and pulp to decarbonize without expensive infrastructure overhauls. Reduciner's approach also produces activated carbon as a co-product, improving process economics and reducing reliance on subsidies.
