Abhinav Asthana is Co-Founder and CEO of Postman, the world's leading API platform used by over 35 million developers and 500,000 organizations including 98% of Fortune 500 companies.

Asthana studied Electronics, Programming, and Multimedia at BITS Pilani and interned at Yahoo, where he encountered API testing challenges that inspired him to create Postman. He was previously CTO of TeliportMe and founded BITS360, a virtual tour technology.

Postman started as a side project in 2012 and was released as a Chrome extension in 2013, gaining 500,000 users with no marketing before becoming a formal company in 2014. Asthana moved from Bangalore to San Francisco in 2017 to be closer to Postman's largest customer base.

Postman raised $434M in total funding, including a $225M Series D in August 2021 at a $5.6B valuation, making it one of the most valued Indian-origin SaaS unicorns. The company is backed by Insight Partners, CRV, Nexus Venture Partners, Coatue, and Battery Ventures.

Under Asthana's leadership, Postman has grown from a simple Chrome extension to a comprehensive API collaboration platform serving major companies like Salesforce, PayPal, Meta, and Stripe. The platform has become the de-facto standard for API development, documentation, and testing worldwide.
