Abraham Heifets is the Founder and CEO of WonderTx, a Y Combinator-backed AI drug discovery company building extrapolative frontier models to unlock first-in-class medicines for diseases that cannot currently be effectively drugged.
Abraham earned his B.Sc. and M.Eng. at Cornell, then completed a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, where he was a Massey Fellow and a Fellow of the Ontario Brain Institute.
Abraham is an inventor on 15+ patents and applications, an author on 24 papers, and has presented his work to the NIH, U.S. GAO, and the American Chemical Society, establishing him as a leading voice in AI-driven drug discovery.
Prior to WonderTx, Abraham co-founded Atomwise in 2012, the first company to deploy deep learning for structure-based drug discovery, raising over $219M in funding and signing $5B+ in partnership value with Sanofi, Bayer, and Eli Lilly.
At Atomwise, Abraham led the largest AI-driven drug discovery experiment with 600+ researchers across 30 countries; at WonderTx, he is now targeting a $200B market of treatable diseases lacking an oral drug by building a lights-out AI drug factory.
