Alex Ksendzovsky, MD, PhD is Co-Founder and CEO of The Biological Computing Co. (TBC), pioneering the world's first applied biological computing platform that integrates living neurons with modern AI to power the post-silicon era.
Alex holds an MD from Chicago Medical School and a PhD in Physiology from the University of Virginia, completing his neurosurgery residency at UVA and the National Institutes of Health, and a fellowship in Epilepsy and Functional Neurosurgery at Yale School of Medicine.
As Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of Epilepsy Surgery at the University of Maryland, Alex has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and brings more than two decades of neuroscience research to the frontier of computing.
Alex co-founded TBC in 2022 alongside fellow neurosurgeon Jon Pomeraniec, emerging from stealth in February 2026 with a $25M seed round led by Primary Venture Partners, with participation from Builders VC, Refactor Capital, Tusk Ventures, and others.
TBC has trained AI image and video models claimed to be up to 27x more efficient using neuron-derived algorithms, opened its flagship lab in San Francisco's Mission Bay, and is targeting hybrid neuro-silicon cloud cluster deployments by 2027.
