Anders C. Wulff is the Founder and CEO of SUBRA, a Danish deep-tech company pioneering scalable high-temperature superconductor solutions for zero-loss power transmission and fusion energy. He is an inventor and entrepreneur at the forefront of one of the most critical enabling technologies for the global green energy transition.
Holding a PhD and having served as a former Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Anders spent years researching superconductivity before spinning SUBRA out of DTU in 2014. His breakthrough idea, conceived in 2011, was to vapor-deposit superconducting material into hair-thin strands to eliminate AC loss in flat-tape superconductors.
Anders is the innovator behind SUBRA's core patent portfolio and the manufacturing technique that underpins the company's production of thin superconducting tapes. As Vice-Chair of the European Fusion Association (EFA), he actively shapes Europe's next-generation energy agenda.
Under Anders' leadership, SUBRA secured a 3.5 million euro EIC Accelerator funding package and a strategic partnership with Novo Holdings to advance the SUBRACABLE, a world-first bundled superconductor cable for power transmission. He has coordinated pan-European R&D consortia including the Eurostars-funded FILAMENTS4FUSION project.
SUBRA has grown to 40+ employees and operates a 1,000m2 production facility in Farum, Denmark, producing kilometer-length superconductor substrate tapes. The SUBRACABLE technology targets 90% lower energy loss versus conventional copper cables, with a factory for volume production planned by 2027.
