
André Penha is Co-Founder of QuintoAndar, a $5.1 billion proptech unicorn that transformed Brazil's residential rental market through technology and design. He served as CTO from 2012 to 2024 and now leads IBBX as CEO, a wireless electricity transmission company.
André holds a Computer Engineering degree and MSc in Computer Science from Unicamp, plus an MBA from Stanford University. He founded Overplay, a videogame studio in 2002, which was later acquired by Tectoy where he managed their game studio.
André was president of Abragames, the Brazilian association of game developers, from 2007 to 2008. He remains a board member at QuintoAndar and invested in IBBX since 2019.
QuintoAndar raised over $755 million from investors including SoftBank, General Atlantic, Kaszek Ventures, and Tencent. The company manages over 120,000 rentals across Brazil and Mexico, operating in 40+ cities.
QuintoAndar reached unicorn status in 2019 and became Latin America's highest-valued proptech at $5.1 billion. The platform rents apartments 10x faster than traditional agencies, averaging 4 days versus 30 days offline.
