Ani Goswami is Co-Founder and CEO of Oscorp Energy, a Sydney-based cleantech startup building AI-powered vision and robotic systems to autonomously detect and remove lithium-ion batteries from waste streams.
Ani holds a Master's degree in Simulation Modelling and Informatics and has a research background in battery technology, with a focus on wirelessly discharging batteries at industrial scale. He previously served as Interim Director of Decision Analytics and Innovation at the Sax Institute and has led multi-million dollar projects across health and climate tech sectors.
Ani is a researcher in battery technology and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and also serves as a Storm and Flood Rescue Operator for the NSW State Emergency Service. He cofounded Oscorp during the Antler residency program, driven by the urgent need to make waste facilities safer and more autonomous.
Oscorp raised a $1.3M pre-seed round led by European VC Atlas via its AI VB fund, with participation from Antler and Antipodean Capital. The company has signed an MoU with ASX-listed battery recycler Livium Ltd as a design partner, with plans to deploy its technology at Livium's facilities.
Oscorp's autonomous sorting platform delivers 10x manual throughput speed with approximately 90% labour cost reduction, targeting the 10,000 to 12,000 battery-related fires that occur annually in Australian waste streams. The company's LUIGI AI model retrains continuously on facility data, improving accuracy each shift while generating ESG dashboards for operators.
