
Ankur Goyal is Founder and CEO of Braintrust, an AI observability and evaluation platform that helps enterprises build reliable AI products. The company serves leading tech companies including Instacart, Zapier, Notion, Airtable, and Replit.
Ankur studied Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and spent over five years as Vice President of Engineering at SingleStore (formerly MemSQL), where he built databases and led product architecture. He founded Impira, an AI-powered document extraction platform that was acquired by Figma, where he then led the ML Platform team.
Ankur dropped out of Carnegie Mellon to join the founding team at SingleStore, gaining formative experience building for high-bar enterprise users. His technical expertise spans database systems, machine learning infrastructure, and AI product development.
Braintrust raised $80 million in Series B funding led by Iconiq in February 2026, reaching an $800 million valuation. The company previously raised $36 million in Series A from Andreessen Horowitz, bringing total funding to $125 million.
Braintrust customers have improved AI accuracy from below 40% to over 80% in just weeks using the platform. The company was named to the Enterprise Tech 30 list in 2024 and has doubled its customer base year over year.
