
Arno Harris is the former CEO and Founder of Recurrent Energy, one of North America's largest solar project developers that was acquired by Sharp Corporation in 2010 for $305 million and later by Canadian Solar.
Arno graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English and previously founded Prevalent Power in 2001, a commercial solar company acquired by Energy Innovations in 2005.
Arno was named Best Cleantech CEO of 2012 by San Francisco Business Times and received the 2011 Rising Star Award at Platts Global Energy Awards. He served as Chairman of the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) from 2012 to 2014 and was appointed to California's Prop 39 Citizens Oversight Committee by Attorney General Kamala Harris.
Under Arno's leadership, Recurrent Energy brought online over 515 MW of solar projects and developed major contracts including 170 MW with Ontario Power Authority and projects with Google, MetLife, and Duke Energy. The company was acquired by Sharp Corporation for $305 million in 2010.
Recurrent Energy completed over half a gigawatt of solar power projects during Arno's tenure and established a pipeline of over 2 GW of distributed-scale solar projects across North America and Europe. He also founded Prevalent Power, which delivered what was then the largest corporate solar system for Google's Silicon Valley campus.
