
Professor Carlos Simón is Co-Founder and President of iPremom, a molecular diagnostics company pioneering early pregnancy complication detection through its MaiRa blood-based platform.
Carlos earned his doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia and completed a research fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Stanford University, building a career as a world-leading obstetrician, gynecologist, and clinical researcher.
He has authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications, holds an h-index of 136, and has received prestigious honors including the King Jaime I Award in Medical Research (2011) and the ASRM Distinguished Research Award (2016).
Carlos previously founded Igenomix S.L. in 2011, a global precision medicine company in reproductive genetics that was acquired by Vitrolife in 2021, and co-founded the Carlos Simon Foundation for Research in Women's Health.
iPremom secured a EUR 15M investment round co-led by Asabys and Amadeus Capital Partners to advance clinical validation of MaiRa, a first-trimester blood test targeting preeclampsia, which affects 5 to 8% of pregnancies worldwide.
