
Crijn Bouman is CEO and Co-Founder of Rocsys, the global leader in hands-free charging solutions for electric and autonomous vehicles using AI-based computer vision and soft robotics.
Crijn graduated with honors in Integrated Product Design from Delft University of Technology and attended MIT Sloan School of Management. In 2005, he co-founded Epyon, Europe's first EV fast-charging company, which was acquired by ABB in 2011, where he became VP of the EV charging product line, scaling the business across 50+ countries.
Crijn is a pioneer in EV charging who started his first company in 2005 before EVs were mainstream. He plays a leading role in developing international standards for robotic charging, including work with IEC/ISO, CharIN, and the ROCIN-ECO consortium with Audi, Porsche, BMW, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz.
Founded Rocsys in 2019 with co-founders Joost van der Weijde and Kanter van Deurzen. The company raised $36M in Series A funding led by SEB Greentech Venture Capital, with backing from Forward.One, Graduate Entrepreneur Fund, and the European Investment Bank. Rocsys partners with major companies including SSA Marine, Hyster, APM Terminals, and leading automotive OEMs.
Rocsys operates in Europe and the United States with headquarters in the Netherlands and regional operations in Portland, Oregon. The company's autonomous charging solutions increase station throughput by approximately 20% during peak hours and reduce switch time by 80%, serving ports, logistics operators, robotaxis, and autonomous vehicle providers.
